Enrollment into our program does not guarantee licensure. Each state has rules and regulations related to professional licensure requirements, which can change at any time based on state discretion. The student is responsible for staying up to date on state licensure requirements.

For SLP licensure, every state requires a graduate degree and a passing* score on the Praxis Examination in Speech-Language Pathology. Licensure requirements by state can be viewed here. Please see our state licensure disclosure here.

*Each state determines its passing score for professional licensure and teacher credentialing

Ithaca College is approved by New York State to participate in the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA). SARA is an agreement among members states, districts, and territories that establishes one set of standards and regulations for offering postsecondary distance education courses and programs.

Ithaca College is accredited by The Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE).

The program is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (CAA)*.

Our current accreditation period extends through January 31, 2027.
